Pre Construction Manager

Energy research contribution

You'll draw on practical knowledge of energy cost estimation, construction planning and solar design to create expert training data and assess AI responses. Your feedback helps AI better understand project development and cost estimation.

This is ongoing, hourly contract work organised around individual projects rather than a traditional job. It is designed to fit alongside other commitments, and previous AI experience is not required.

What the work involves

• Create training material grounded in professional energy experience and the tools used in everyday practice.
• Judge whether AI generated responses are accurate and relevant to project development and cost estimation.
• Explain findings clearly in writing, paying close attention to detail.

Relevant experience and tools

At least 2 years of professional experience in energy project estimation, pre-construction, or solar design is required. Relevant roles include:

• Work as a estimator or Project Engineer.
• Work as a pre-construction Manager or Solar Design Engineer.
• Equivalent positions elsewhere in the energy industry.

Practical experience with at least one of Bluebeam Revu, RSMeans or Aurora Solar is needed. Work independently and communicate effectively with AI researchers collaborating asynchronously.

Rate, hours and matching

Compensation is up to $85 per hour, depending on the project. The work is fully remote and part time, with a flexible asynchronous schedule and no minimum hours; active contributors typically spend about 5 to 20 hours per week.

Assignments depend on current project requirements. Candidates may also be considered for future projects as they become available.
