A familiar task—judging search results—carries different advertised ceilings depending on the country and language. This sample compares 41 saved listings across 30 countries in one search-evaluator title family.

The spread: $4.00 to $30.00 per hour
These are advertised “up to” ceilings, not a range any one applicant is offered. The lowest ceiling appears in India, Indonesia; the highest in Switzerland. The task family is similar, but language, residency, screening and project conditions differ.
Country and language belong beside the rate
A country with several rates shows the lowest and highest advertised ceiling among its included language variants. It does not show a guaranteed minimum. All figures below are USD per hour; other currencies are excluded.

How to use this comparison
Start with the country and language you actually qualify for. Then check whether the rate is a ceiling, how work is assigned, and what time is unpaid. A higher country ceiling does not mean you can choose that rate from another location. For other kinds of AI work, compare the advertised pay by field.
Method and limits
Active saved records with the exact Search Engine Evaluator title family; country and language from title; one record per source URL; explicit Pay: Up to N USD/hour parsed only from retained original text. No exchange-rate conversion or inferred lower rate.
We inspected 46 active saved records in this title family. 41 qualify for the comparison; 5 are excluded. The export records the reason totals, role IDs and each observation date. We do not fill empty structured rate fields using a typical wage; the explicit rate must appear in retained original text.
Country names here follow the source title and describe location eligibility. They are not inferred from a language or from a worker's nationality. This is nominal advertised pay, without currency conversion, cost-of-living adjustment or a measured earnings outcome.
- One comparable title family, not all AI work or the whole labor market.
- Up-to ceilings are advertised terms, not actual pay, guaranteed offers or available hours.
- Language, residency, qualification and project conditions differ. Country is not an isolated causal variable.
- Active means active in the saved snapshot. Individual pages can change or close after their recorded observation.
