Color and finishing evaluation

Help assess generative video against theatrical finishing standards. The work covers matching color across shots, accurate skin tones, pacing through multiple shots, clean scene transitions and preparation for high dynamic range delivery.

Review and benchmark work

• Define quality expectations for color, editing and HDR preparation, examine current tests and classify common failure patterns in generated sequences.
• Find, grade, edit and curate reference material with both excellent results and difficult grading or editing challenges.
• Test early model capabilities against those references and give specific notes on color shifts, contrast, banding, compression and editorial rhythm.
• Help establish reviewer qualifications and calibration methods.
• Review caption guidance so that color and editorial decisions are described precisely, and coordinate with other experts to maintain consistent judgments.

Background and specialist skills

At least 7 years in postproduction, color grading or editorial finishing and credits on 2 or more professional films are required.

Relevant experience includes senior digital intermediate or finishing color work using Resolve or Baselight, shot matching, HDR and Dolby Vision. Finishing or online editing with conform, color workflows and mastering is also relevant, as are lead narrative editing in film or television, postproduction supervision, and color science or pipeline work involving ACES, Rec.709, Rec.2020 or P3.

You should notice subtle changes in skin tone, contrast, color, banding and compression, as well as shifts in editorial rhythm. Practical use of generative tools to create and finish visual test material is required.

A dependable, color accurate 4K or HDR display is advantageous for close inspection.

Employment and availability

This is a full time W2 role through an employer of record partner, with an opportunity to work within an AI laboratory’s extended workforce. Plan for approximately 40 hours each week during weekdays.

The employment partner administers payroll and benefits. Strong written communication is essential: you must translate visual observations into precise language for captions, review notes and evaluation templates.
