Experience and qualifications

Candidates should satisfy each of the three criteria below.

• Professional or research background: At least five years of direct, professional software engineering work.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant technical discipline.
• Specialist depth: Demonstrated depth in backend and distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and DevOps, or systems programming and performance work.

Additional strengths, rather than mandatory requirements, include employment experience at a highly regarded technology business.

All applicants need precise written communication, care with details, and the ability to work independently. You should be comfortable completing assignments remotely and communicating asynchronously.

Schedule and compensation

The role offers a flexible schedule with no fixed working times and no minimum hours. You can complete tasks at your own pace while continuing other professional commitments. Pay can reach $120 per hour, with the applicable rate determined by the project.
