M&A Financial Strategy Expert
Type: Contract-based
Location: Remote (Canada, US, and Europe only)
Transaction-driven finance role centered on merger models, valuation, diligence, and strategic analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and related initiatives.
Day-to-day
- Develop and evaluate merger models, including accretion/dilution analysis for deal structuring and scenario planning.
- Run valuation work across DCF, trading comparables, and precedent transactions.
- Analyze acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, and other strategic transactions from both financial and operational perspectives.
- Challenge deal assumptions by quantifying synergies, risks, and value drivers.
- Build integrated operating models and perform transaction-related financial analysis.
- Lead or support diligence by dissecting business performance, operating metrics, and cost structures.
- Present findings in written summaries and presentations for senior stakeholders.
You bring
- At least 3 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate development, or similar transaction-heavy finance roles.
- Deep expertise in merger modeling, advanced valuation methods, and financial statement analysis.
- Strong ability to connect financial mechanics with broader strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional Excel modeling, analytical problem solving, and remote-work discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for high-stakes environments.
Bonus
- Experience with tier 1 investment banks, elite boutiques, or top corporate development teams.
- Background in carve-outs, synergy analysis, or industry-specific M&A work.
- Track record of supporting senior leadership with investment memos or strategic transaction recommendations.
